Oftentimes, we all wonder how much it really cost to study abroad and if it’s an investment that would pay off or even be worth our while. I personally thought about this when I was contemplating moving abroad to study or just getting internationally recognised professional certifications.

So here is what I discovered; the average salary in Luxembourg 🇱🇺 is 59,000 EUR per year. Now let’s compare it to the fees you would pay if you decide to study there. Note that this is not just an example but a real University, Program and fees ;

A Masters program in Data Science at the University of Luxembourg: This is a 2-year program that consists of 4 semesters (2 semesters per year). Each semester cost 200 EUR regardless of your nationality. This means you spend only 800 EUR to achieve a masters degree in a highly sort after area.  You are also allowed to work for up to 15 hours during the semesters and up to 40 hours during holidays. If you need more information about this program, check it out here.

This opportunity allows you to fend for yourself while studying. Oh, and the icing on the cake is that you get 9 months after your study to look for a job, once you’ve gotten a job, your visa is then changed to a work permit (from a post-study job search visa). Remember, you would have already gotten a masters degree in a highly sort after area so it means the labour market will already be waiting for you.

800 EUR to get 59,000 EUR in 2 years. I don’t know about you but I’m ready to move to Luxembourg 🇱🇺!!!
