Yes, that’s true. There are very affordable countries to move to asides from Germany.
Germany isn’t the only country that provides a high level of education for less. There are more countries to explore if Germany isn’t your preference or you just don’t see yourself learning German in the long run. But first, it is important to know that all these countries are linked and you have access to them all if you live in just one of these countries.
Now that the ease of access has been addressed, here are the cheapest countries in Europe you can study in;
Norway; Public universities in Norway do not charge students tuition fees, regardless of the student’s country of origin. This is a unique opportunity to obtain a degree at a quality university at no cost, and one of many reasons why Norway has become an attractive country for foreign students.
Germany; In 2014, Germany’s 16 states abolished tuition fees for undergraduate students at all public German universities. This means that currently, both domestic and international undergraduates at public universities in Germany can study for free, with just a small fee to cover administration and other costs per semester.
France; For Bachelor’s programmes, the average tuition fees are around 170 euros per year. Engineering degrees have higher tuition fees of around 620 EUR per academic year. The average tuition fees for Medicine studies can reach up to 450 EUR per year.
Poland; International students are required to pay fees in Poland, however, the rate is really low, ranging from 1,000 – 4,000 euros per year for Master’s degrees.
Austria; International students pay as low as 3,000 euros per year in Austria. This may of course be higher depending on the university and program type.
Czech republic; For as low as 200 euros per year, you can obtain a degree in this country. There are also quite expensive universities but in general, this is a location you should explore if on a tight budget for your study abroad journey.
Italy; In Italy, average undergraduate programmes at public institutions can cost between 900 euros to €4,000 per year, with the average being approximately €1,500. Expect higher prices from Private universities but the standard of living is relatively low hence living in Italy is affordable.
