To apply for the KAAD Scholarship 2026, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must come from a developing or emerging country in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, or Eastern and Southeastern Europe, and currently reside there.
- Hold a university degree and relevant professional experience from the home country.
- Applicants can pursue a Master’s, PhD, or post-doctoral research (2–6 months for established lecturers) at a German university.
- Must be a Catholic or Christian applicant; candidates from other religions may apply if endorsed by KAAD partners and can demonstrate engagement in inter-religious dialogue.
- German language skills are required before the program starts; KAAD offers a preparatory German course for up to six months.
- Candidates should intend to reintegrate their knowledge and skills into their home country.
