- Eligibility:
- To be eligible for the University of Sydney International Scholarships (USydIS), applicants must:
- Language Requirement: Be proficient in English
- Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries
- Be applying for or enrolled full-time in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at the University of Sydney
- Be undertaking study in a field aligned with the University’s current or emerging research strengths
- Not have held an Australia Awards scholarship in the two years before commencing the RTP Fee Scholarship
- Not currently hold or have previously held an RTP Fee Scholarship, unless it was for a completed Master by Research and the new application is for a PhD
- Not already hold a research qualification equivalent to an Australian PhD, or for master’s applicants, a research qualification equivalent to or higher than an Australian Master’s by Research
- Not have been considered for this scholarship more than three times in the past five years
- Not be receiving another scholarship that covers tuition, funded substantially by the Australian Government

- The University of Sydney International Scholarships offer the following:
- Full tuition fee coverage
- Living allowance for up to three years (with the possibility of a six-month extension for PhD students)
- Additional scholarship value options include:
- AUD $40,000, payable for one year in two equal installments
- AUD $20,000, payable for one year in two equal installments
- AUD $10,000, payable for one semester
- AUD $5,000, payable for one semester
