Located in Göttingen, Germany, the university is formally known as Georg-August University and is a public research university. The best part of attending this university is that it is tuition-free, and you only have to pay an administrative fee of around 300 EUR per semester.

Many of the classes at this university are taught in English, covering the arts, natural sciences, law, and social sciences. It also has one of Germany’s biggest libraries. 

University of Vienna 

This university is one of the oldest in Austria, having been established in 1365 as a public research institution. Similarly to other European nations, students studying in Austria who are also nationals of the European Union or the European Economic Area (EEA) are exempt from paying tuition. 

You can pick from approximately 200 courses, many of which are English. The tuition ranges from 726 EUR to 1,453 EUR each semester for international students.

University of Basel

The University of Basel, one of Switzerland’s oldest institutions of higher education, was established in 1460. It’s also one of the least expensive schools in all of Europe. 

The university has differentiated itself from its foreign rivals by concentrating its resources in five key areas: the life sciences, the visual arts, nanosciences, sustainability and energy research, and European and global studies. 

Regardless of the country, undergraduate students pay the same tuition fee of CHF 850, while graduate students pay an annual CHF 350 tuition charge.

The University of Basel also consistently ranks among the top 100 institutions worldwide in international rankings due to its outstanding research. 

University of Pisa

The institution takes great pleasure in being the first in Italy to provide a degree in computer science and is well-recognized for its research facilities. The primary language used to teach there is Italian, and it offers various degree levels, from undergraduate to doctoral. 

The university has twenty different departments that provide courses in fields as diverse as law, cultural studies, engineering, medicine, and business administration. The tuition fee is around 2,000 EUR per academic year for domestic and international students.
